The Allure of Fantasy
Where magic means fabric, we were asked to create a short forecast based on the Spirit of the Time (Zeigeist) of 2025. We were tasked with creating a fashion forecast for Fall/Winter 2027 and forming a predicted zeitgeist for the season. Conceptualized through curated themes, color stories, images, and research to portray to a judge.

Theme Research
The idea of escaping through whimsical means comes from the zeitgeist of 2025, where people have grown a desire for escape and change. This is due to chaotic times similar to fantasy, such as Alice in Wonderland.
This theme is reflected in fashion through exploration and expression of identity. This includes other events, such as conventions or Renaissance fairs, as well as expressing their desires through fashion.
Start off with a Mood Board
Through trial and error, the mood boards were designed to evoke the sensation of our theme visually. This process incorporated the main images of our inspiration, from board games to movies, and other aspects, which are meant to convey the feeling and meaning of our forecast.
The theme of our forecast allowed for whimsical vibes, a fantasy-like feeling, and colors and prints meant to present them.

There was plenty of trial and error throughout this project, where we discussed what fabrics would be best, styles, colors, and more.

This palette blends medieval fantasy with dreamlike nostalgia. Warm tones bring sunlight and comfort, bold hues spark adventure, and soft pastels add fairytale whimsy. A vibrant red anchors the story with energy, while earthy greens ground it in nature, and a calm grey balances it all. Together, the colors capture the enchantment of storybooks, medieval lore, and the limitless reach of imagination.

We chose fabrics that would give off a whimsical and magical vibe. Including taffeta, liquid organza, cotton poplin, lurex, gingham, and more. These all represent fantasy in some form, whether through the visual or the use of the fabric, including costumes.
An Auditory & Visual Representation of our Forecast
With inspiration from the desire to escape through fantasy and whimsical matters. This video provided a more consumable medium to represent the theme of the 2027 Zeigiest.
The Outcome.
This forecast was a representation of how we worked successfully as a group to predict the forecast that will be a result of the ongoing trends and zeitgeist. We presented to a judge from Future Snoops, who complimented our presentation, stating it was attractive and well-researched.
